Privacy Policy

This site collects very little, and none of it identifies you. There is no account to create, no login, no newsletter, and nowhere to type a name or an email address, so there is no personal data here to lose.

Data We Collect

What is recorded is ordinary analytics: which pages were opened, roughly where in the world the visit came from, and which links were clicked. It arrives aggregated, it is used to work out which guides are worth expanding, and it is never sold or passed to anyone for advertising.

How Your Data Is Handled

One cookie records which booking listings a visitor clicks, because that is how the commission that pays for this site is attributed. Once you arrive at a booking site, that company's own privacy policy governs everything you do there, including anything you enter at checkout.

Your Data, Plainly

The weather panel on the homepage is served through Tainan Travel Guide's own endpoint at /api/tainan-now. That endpoint fetches current conditions from Taiwan's Central Weather Administration, and the API key stays on the server where it belongs. Your browser never contacts the weather service directly, and no identifier tied to you as a visitor is sent along with the request. What reaches the weather service is a plain server-side call for Tainan's forecast, nothing more. From your side, the panel behaves like any other part of the page: it loads, it shows the weather, and it leaves no separate trail.

Your Choices

Blocking cookies or analytics in your browser is entirely fine here and nothing on the site stops working if you do: every page, map and table is served as plain HTML. Do Not Track signals are not honoured by the analytics provider used here, which is worth stating plainly rather than implying otherwise.
